Excellence is synonym for survival. Human history provides an evidence for the truth of this statement. We are living in the age of Free Market Economy and are converting our planet into a Global Village. Today not only the tangible commodities but the concepts and ideas are becoming sellable market products. We don’t know how to sell products based on performance. Everything we sell, we sell on image. While talking about our economic image on the global screen we are bound to face the word “Excellence”. Computers today are superhuman in their ability to handle numbers and instructions, but still infantile in their ability to handle ideas and concepts so they can not strive for excellence only a man can strive for excellence if he has a desire for it. The desire for excellence needs striving and continuous struggle and as matter of facet one can not strive and struggle without commitment. A committed person only with strength cannot strive for the best become excellence lies not in being strong, but in the right use of strength. There is more credit and satisfaction in being a first-rate truck driver than a tenth-rate executive. Whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing well, whether it is driving a truck or managing a multinational company. if you are not doing well you are not worth living. This is what excellence means. I am confident that Nutshell Forum is simply the best of its kind but as we are constantly moving upward we are certainly Striving for Excellence |

Recently I attended a HR conference and listened to a number of speakers talk about various aspects of HR and business in Hong Kong and China. What struck me at the end of the day was the lack of the word "trust" in all but two presentations. Teams and business is surely based on trust and yet here were the HR practitioners of major companies failing to mention what is a critical ingredient in successful business.
